Organizing Institutions
NHH is a world-leading institution in business management, economics, and finance, with a rich history in maritime affairs. Our maritime tradition dates back to the school founding, which was made possible by a generous grant from shipowner and Statsråd (Cabinet Minister) Kristoffer Lehmkuhl (1855-1949). Their current programs include various courses related to maritime affairs and research that address some of the most pressing issues in maritime operations and business.
IAME currently has a membership of over 300 individual members from all continents and more than 10 corporate members. IAME organizes annual conferences hosted by different institutions each year and occasionally also endorses other conferences that are in line with the aims of the Association. The Association is officially linked to two leading academic journals in the field: Maritime Policy & Management and Maritime Economics & Logistics.
Former IAME conferences
The IAME conference annually brings together scholars, industry practitioners, and policymakers at various global locations. Over its history, IAME has co-organized 31 conferences, with every continent represented. Each conference has brought together the most renowned companies and universities, covering aspects of maritime and port business and operations.
For the first time, the conference will be held in Norway. This event will showcase challenges and solutions from around the world and emphasize the interconnected relationship between industry and academia in addressing global challenges.
